We're back in the swing of things here at the Rhett&Link headquarters, and that means releasing our first video of 2009. We present our last Supernote-related video, the official theme song for our SuperNote Champion, Peter Heggem. We channeled Johnny Cash for this one.

Resolution Time

As the video below indicates, we've always been a bit skeptical about New Year's Resolutions. Instead of setting yourself up for disappointment, it seems that embracing the human tendency towards apathy is a much more realistic approach.

However, since releasing this video last year, we've learned a thing or two. I (Rhett) was listening to John Norcross on NPR, and his research indicates that the art of making resolutions is potentially very beneficial, and that a surprising number of people actually do follow through with them. In that spirit, we ask you again this year: What are you resolving to do (or not do) in 2009? Let us know below. Happy New Year!

Steven Blower, known affectionately to the RhettandLinKommunity as the Funkmaster, made the most creative SuperNote Video. As we promised, we wrote him a theme song. Then, we decided to make a psychedelic music video.

Our Silver Bells Song Collab

We were invited to collaborate with Wade Johnston on a Christmas song. We chose Silver Bells and tried to channel Elvis. Oh well.

We met Wade in San Fran at YouTube live. He performed on the main stage as part of the Ukelele ensemble thingy. Wade edited this video for his YouTube Channel:

The Inevitable, Lousy Gift

It's a natural law. Every family has at least one person who has a knack for giving downright awful gifts. And it seems that there's something about the holiday season that intensifies this ability. Maybe it's the fact that they're forced to give gifts to a number of people, as opposed to zeroing in on one person for a birthday. It's no mystery that this person is going to stay true to form this year, so we wanted you to be prepared. It's not ingratitude....it's honesty.

The Surrogate Sharers: Dan and Mike??

Today, you get a special edition of Surrogate Sharers that even we didn't know about...I guess that's kind of the point. Dan the Montage Man and Mike Quadrel have helped us out here in the basement. Dan recently gave us two weeks of his life so we could torture him by making him edit the SuperNote Jingle Bells, and Mike is a local who helps from time to time with the RhettandLinKast and other important internetainment-related duties. Apparently we didn't work them too hard, because they had time to put together this video. Enjoy:

Ever since the SuperNotes began pouring in back in September, we knew we wanted to do something with all of these random notes. Thanks to A LOT of hard work by members of our SuperSquad and Dan the Montage Man, we present to you Jingle Bells composed entirely of SuperNotes.
